imperial tobacco canada - Speaking out

There is no single solution to the problem of illegal tobacco products. Any lasting solution will require a combination of measures that must involve and be supported by all stakeholders, including First Nations leadership.

Imperial Tobacco Canada believes that the illegal sale of tobacco is a critical public policy matter. We openly call on the federal and provincial governments to increase enforcement efforts and apply Canada’s tough tobacco laws equally to the smoke shacks and illegal factories. We also work together with retailer associations and have joined Canadian businesses and organizations in the National Coalition against Contraband Tobacco (NCACT), to raise awareness and encourage government action.

We also work closely with retail organizations such as the Canadian Convenience Stores Association. Contraband tobacco is an important issue for Canadian retailers as it significantly impacts their business and livelihood.
