imperial tobacco canada - Harm reduction

The only way to avoid the health risks associated with tobacco products is not to use them at all. The best way for a tobacco consumer to reduce these risks is to quit.

At the British American Tobacco Group Research and Development laboratories, based in the United Kingdom, the focus is to better understand the harm caused by tobacco use and develop potentially less harmful products, whether combustible – such as cigarettes – or smokeless tobacco products.

Closer to home, Imperial Tobacco Canada engages with Canadian regulators, government and the scientific community to exchange the latest information on tobacco harm reduction. We will continue to seek common ground with decision makers and health policymakers to strive for pragmatic public health approaches that recognize some tobacco products might pose fewer health risks than others.
